CCA employs 7 people and is headquartered Mayfield in Cork with a UK office in Manchester Science Park. The company has grown steadily from 2006 and provides clinical trial management services for the worldwide Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry and specialises in phase II-IV clinical trials in the therapeutic areas of: Oncology, Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes, Antibiotic, Rheumatology and CNS.
CCA as a company has been recognized for its innovative management approach to the understanding and documentation of the route patients receive medical treatment worldwide, the so called ‘patient pathway’. CCA has through its innovative approach to patient recruitment on clinical trials developed an Internet Clinical Trials Solution (www.internetclinicaltrialsolutions.com), a novel, revolutionary online patient recruitment tool, as well as proximity clinical trials recruitment pods using mobile phones and Podcasts to inform patients of upcoming trials whilst in vicinity of hospitals and GP/ health centres. As part of their innovative initiatives CCA have also produced a web based GP referral system in place that allows patients screened online to be automatically referred to GPs carrying out trials that are nearest to them.
In the clinical trial industry it has emerged that a strategic alliance outsourcing strategy can help meet both financial and organisational challenges. CCA explored the current market place of global Pharma- and Biotech industries and the increased popularity of strategic alliance as its next step necessary for success. With this in mind they have formed strategic alliances in both the Far East and Europe as part of a global plan implementing a successful risk equalization outsourcing strategy which director of clinical research Dr David Hall claims will be the key to success in the current global market. This award is recognition of this policy.
